Coz ya've not been taking yr sanatogen Mrs! lol!!!! :D
Lucky you getting out in the first place I'd say... not been further than 1/2 a mile lately to and from new unit, Yams place and mine - no rest for me atm.
Had a lovely night last night as was James's 13th birthday. His dad came to visit, then Yam and his crew desended for a meal and birthday cake etc.. was a great time.
But... Yam rang this morning to tell me he'd been burgled overnight whilst he and his kids were asleep!!!!! They took a work laptop, mobile phone and his car. He's got a Toyota Hi-lux and the police reckon they were really only after that to go on to do another job stealing a trailer or horsebox or similar. It was last seen by a car registration camera heading towards Leeds in the early hours, but nothing since :(
I needed a brew! I need one now too - a nice strong coffee . . . just got out of bed - I ache all over after three days 'fungi-ing' in Clumber (you know walk a distance, find something, get down, photograph, try to get back up, walk more, and more, till yer feet hurt, the hips are singing, the old back is doing a song and dance routine ....... that kind of thing!! Very enjoyable in the mind - the body doesn't cope as well as it used to!!!! Why is that?!!
We were seated near an exit so got out very fast - walked to the car - 600 yrds and home with a cuppa 35 mins after finishing. It was all excellent and I'm glad I got out of the doldrums and went! What am I like these days?!!!!
PS We had plenty time between first parking and meal and show so went into a few stores ........ I took Ian into House of Fraser (Kendal Milne) when I worked there in the Men's Hairdressing salon ..... what a trip down memory lane that was!!!!
Yes we did! At dinnertime I was all for crying off - I didn't feel right getting tarted up (nothing fits me anymore and I refuse to buy bigger and bigger stuff ....) and didn't want to eat out (its me age!) but once we were in Manchester it was fine. The meal was very good: garlic mush with fetta for me; chicken liver pate and rocket salad for him; lasagne for both (except I had the apetiser of olives instead of side salad) then tirimisu for me (love it!) and red berry pancotta for his nibs. I would have liked alcohol free wine or perrier and lime to drink but they only had appletise ....... a very small niggle. The show was fantastic (we've seen it 4 times now over the years!) I booked stalls instead of circle for once and I'm glad I did - it was terrifically intimate - I could see all the action and the Opera House is small in comparison to other venues - but the dancers filled every inch of the stage to great effect.
It's fine now thanks, it's just a bit yellow tis all lol!
Hangover... heck no lol, we were both up and back too it by 9am at the unit! Must say the place we dined was lovely, rather posh and there were only 5 customers in including us! As for the food it was really top notch, pan fried scallops on crushed peas with mint and pancetta for me to start, smoked haddock risotto for Yam, then fried sea bass with fennel for me and fillet steak for Yam, beautifully cooked vegetables too.... oooh it was lush and cooked to perfection and with a couple of drinks the bill only came to £60 which I didn't think was bad tbh so methinks we'll be going again when we fancy treating ourselves :D
I bet you had a great time in Manch last night eh - so do tell!
Glad to hear injuries settling down - keep an eye on your wrist for lingering damage - consider a few session of physio or accupuncture if you suspect any lasting damage. I'm wondering if you're up and busy busy this morn or nursing a hangover?! We are off to Asda in a while then at dinner time we're digging the gladrags out (wonder if I'll fit in mine?) and getting tarted up - off to Manchester at 3pm to find parking - got a meal booked at 5 and a show at 8pm (Lord of the Dance - we've only seen it 3 times already and Ian has it on DVD in the living room at the min!) Will be a change to get dressed up and go out together - its something we very rarely do these days - and he does look gorgeous in black jeans and shirt ..........
Well tis our night off tonight. Yam and I are off out for dins locally (and a whole night to ourselves! ;)). Yam's eldest daughter is babysitting the other 3 munchkins at his house so... ooooooh bliss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Had to laugh at yr mums antics in the supermarket (sorry!) but it was funny... kids eh... who'd have'em?! lol :D
I've actually booked in to go down to Sussex with James to visit my Auntie and Grandma in half term - will be great to catch up with them all though doubt my Grandma will remember me... she's doing ok though by all accounts :)
Yea... but he missed lol!!!!!... there were mutterings of 'should have used yr head instead!!', but he loves me really?!? :D
Thanks for the tip on the Arnica. Tufftie said the same thing, but tbh I'm somewhat miffed as my bruises aren't half as spectacular as I was hoping considering the pain - was hoping to wind him up about it for days yet lol!! My wrist is sort of a bit yellow and green and still sore to touch, but my shoulders aren't as impressive sadly :(
Anyway... public liability insurance will be in place shortly, so if he does it again I'll sue the pants off him lmao!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Been there again today finishing off the walls in the back office and kitchen area - tis all done now though yay! Having some horrendous quotes coming in for pluming in new boiler/heating and BT messed up the phone system today too... crikey 2 steps forward one back eh!
