last sunday, while walking Timmy in the forest, we passed the spot where we had seen frogs mating a few weeks ago. last time we passed the spawn was still there. this time there was hundreds of Tadpoles just getting ready to break free, which some had already done.
they were all bunched 2gether 4 protection & all wriggling. what a sight! we'd just struck it lucky to see this sight & stood watching 4 quite some time. wondering how many would survive! its the things like this...

last Sunday, I took our dog down the lane & saw 10 Shelducks In one field & 4 Herons In another, all on my doorstep. In the afternoon we got the car out 2 go 2 the forest walks & about 1 mile down the lane we watched a Hen Harrier fly across the field. I'm almost never disappointed with seeing wildlife around my home.

while walking Timmy down the lane, I walked under a large Ash tree where 2 rooks were perched. As I listened It became obvious that this was a pair that had mated up. Although not sitting 2gether like a pair of Lovebirds, he was definetly billing & cooing 2 his lady friend. Rooks r usually harsh vocalists, so It was a pleasure 2 listen 2 the gentle way he was wooing.

Well, we must b the luckiest people in the UK at the moment. No snow, & beautiful sunny, crisp, albeit cold weather. the birds are active & it seems spring is not far away. As I said. Lucky!
