- Oh Ye of Little Faith, I'll have you know, O infidel, I am a cook par excellence.
Had to be, both me Muffa and the Wife-That-Was could burn water.
Actually it's a recipe of great antiquity. And what most non-nobles (peasants) ate instead of bread. You had to pay a quartile of your harvest to the Lord of the Manor, a tithe to the local priest and to get the grain milled the Miller would take a share which that meant you would lose a tenth to him too. So boil the grain, the Miller was a rich man anyway. - I got into the habit,on really cold days in Czech, of eating a type of Gruel, with various grains, herbs, shredded meat and dried fruit. I know it sounds yuk but it actually is ruddy tasty. My fav consists of broken wheat, barley, some rice, dried peas, shredded beef, dried apple, a few sultanas, sage, savory, parsley, lots of black pepper. all boiled together 'til sticky. Better than scots porridge, tastier, as nice as honey porridge but does the same job. clads the belly and keeps the home fires burning.
- Can't really say the lasses are walking around in bikinis 'cos if they were they'd be hidden in the fog. ruddy cold stayin' home
- tcvarlh here, A 20p bag????? Cost me much much, much more than that, you can't imagine how deep an Austrian woman can drink of red, red wine. And Newcastle easn't renowned for its deep wine cellars at that time, it was Newkybroon or nothing!

Best band in the world. I defy anyone not to dance to Resurrection (best song in the world ever). Wish Brown would swallow his pride and get back together with the others. Mind John's now an artist so not sure if even that would happen.
If you don't mind me asking is your tag a reference to the Father Christmas books I remember reading when I was younger? I think he used to say "Blooming Marvellous" a lot, just a guess!
