- Oh Janet I've laughed and laughed - cos it conjuoured up an image in my mind of an old girl on her hands and knees in her nightie getting under the neighbours windows - god bless her! I think that blow up in my last post has got it off my chest and into perspective. I'm not going to be mad with her anymore - I should be glad that shes still got the wit to be crafty and laugh at her tricks, so hopefully I've come to terms with this situation at last and can live with it as it is and not try and change it or her into something that is no longer poss. A bit like that well known saying - god grant me the whatever and to know the difference - or however it goes - but I've got the sentiment of it if not the actual saying!!
- Thanks for the video clip of Charlie - he's very cute and looks very well behaved??? :)
- It was pouring down here and so windy.
It is so nice now but not when i did my bird count ha ha.Not to worry there is always next year. - Yes it is nice at the van - and I do need telling that at the min as I'm so ragged I can't appreciate things the way I should...... I'm hoping we get some snatched time there together - just me 'n' 'im later this year. Mam is driving me potty - I'm making all her food and putting it in front of her all she has to do is eat it - its not rocket science! I left her with a beautiful fresh salad last night. I turn up before dinner today and find not only salad untouched but the warm dinner I left her eating was covered in the fridge. And she had the gall to tell me she had made this 'lovely salad for tea' ........ I could kill her. Instead she had been in the fridge and rootled out the coleslaw and some fresh goats yogurt I had mixed with honey and raspberries and eaten the next few days worth....... she's done herself there - cos treats are now off the menu - oh I wish I didn;t get so cross - she's little and old and frightened (and crafty!) Honestly she's 'got me on a butty' as the saying goes around here .......... I've got fire coming out of my ears - can you tell?!!!!!
- Glad to hear the op went well and that he didn't take your leg off instead!!!! Yes it is wonderful to sit in the caravan - esp first thing out of bed with a brew in hand and watch the activity at the bird table - its a really busy table as we are in a corner of the site with a cleared coniferous area over the wall and 50 yards away over the small back road a wet meadow with redshank, snipe, lapwing and curlew in spring/summer - and one year a barn owl. A goshawk used to nest in the coniferous (never saw it) but the chap working on the caravan site saw and knew where the nest was - very little - in fact nothing gets past Dave - he knows all the birds and flowers, nests, badgers - the lot - he's a lot more than just a labourer on the site - which is often the case with folk who do what some would think of as 'lowly work' - same with me when I'm litterpicking - I'm thinking about photography - not litter!!! Which reminds me after my day off poorly yesterday - its back to work this aft - and back to mither if my texts of yesterday are anything to go by...... better get myself geared up........ lots of jobs first this morning - I didn't work this hard when I was full time - ain't that the case!!!!!
- Well there's one way to look at it - if he needs a magnifying glass then he should get all of it in one go shouldn't he! But I know what you mean!!
The caravan is an hour and ten mins (and yesterday an hour and half traffic was terrible) up the M6 near Milnthorpe so not an immediate escape but not long really and about 60 miles away. Normally its an easy run just yesterday was a nightmare and we set off even earlier and took even longer - thats life! We get all the garden birds coming to the big bird table which has been on that spot for at least 16 years! We cover it up and place a small stand with a post or branch of choice clipped to it and yesterday Ian took a long peice of wire and fastened it between the trees to drape camo netting over for a 'splodgy' background - the sun moves around so quick and so low at this time of year - so it was a right rush job - nothing relaxing about it all! After that we travel about on our days off - Lake district, very occasionally Derbyshire, Yorks, often to Southport and North Wales, and recently we've rediscovered the Wirral which I suspect will get a bit of clogg this year! - WE've chased around like idiots on our two days off and got a handful of pics. You're right about the sun - we stood for an hour and half in strong beautiful light on Tues morning next to a patch of rowans in some housing in Warrington - waiting for waxwings (they had gone - last seen sunday - typical) but the sun was hot a lovely thro my big coat - the wind was wicked tho!
- Thankyou for your email - just what I needed to make me laugh!!! Can I fwd it to Elaine?
- Sorry about your aunt was she 'Lanky' too? I'm 'ropey' this morning but then I often am even when there's nothing speciffically wrong!!! A couple of cups of coffee will set that right - haven't had any for a month so quite looking forward to my 'comfort' drink this morning!
