Oh, thanks for that, Barquar - good to get some idea of quality - I could see the box looked well made, but was a bit unsure what the camera itself was going to be like. I've bought it as a present for OH (whose birthday isn't for 6 weeks yet!), so have all that time to wait (although I could probably test just the camera bit out on its own, somehow ..).
    Thanks again Barquar, Jan.

I'm used to it now and the noise it makes when in flood is like a train. We have new neighbours who phoned the council for sandbags the first time they saw the river in flood, so I suppose it can be scary. I still take the "MIckey" out of them - Dad's Army.

Hi Janet, thanks for the comment on my garden shot and yes, the water comes up to just below the flood wall regularly. The river collects all the water from the streams running off the hills so if it's really wet weather it rises over 12 feet.

Hello Janet, Thank you for the comments on the fallows I went off as soon as the snow came down and only just made it there in the car, slipping and sliding, but once I'd got to where I thought the deer would be it was wonderfull.

    Regards

Hi Janet - we 'ummed and arghed' and tried to figure out which weather forecast was correct! In the end Wales looked dodgy so we went and stocked up our bird table at the caravan site (we knew we had to do it oneof the days) then called into Pilling on the way home and stood about for a couple of hours - we were rewarded finally with a patch of sun and blue that lasted half an hour and in that time the barn owl came and flew round us..... too close actually and we both missed it close and facing us and only got locked onto it as it began flying away - but at least we have some shots at lonjg last (5 visits? 7? 8? I can't remember - a few anyway and some not even seeing a bird in the distance never mind next to us!) Its left me wanting more but the weather not promising enough today plus its Sunday so its trying to catch up with images on here today ............ armed with a big pot of coffee - already had three mugs in 40 mins - will be high as a kite!!

Heh! heh! You're not the only one Janet - I think senility is built in these days - no-one is going to escape it - just relax and laugh at yourself is how I'm dealing with mine! I've been trying to get robins squaring up to each other - but its all over in split secs - and I miss it every time! As for insurance - I'm with Saga - say no more!!!! Forecast is looking hopeless now - today is the blue day - the weekend once again looks 'orrible so Ians 3 loaves will have to go stale!! Hope you enjoyed the meal and not got a tender head this morning!

Here I am back again still with fleece and nightie on..... No Wales is just a day trip out for us - an hour and half run on average depending where in North Wales. We've not had the camper van out for months - I doubt it would start - we keep charging the battery and getting it going but not actually going anywhere with it. I'm reluctant to use it sometimes as it would only take a bit of a bump and the insurance would want to scrap it as its so old - which makes me mad - why pay insurance if they won't take a hit and pay for repairs - talk about money for nothing - I know its to protect against me mowing citizens down in the street but you know what I mean! Is your daft robin still thinking about nesting in weather like this?! I suppose he has to lay claim tho otherwise he will be ousted by some other robin thinking about the future!!
