Hi Pete
Thanks for your message! I hope it works out too, the first signs are good! After not working for 2 and a half months it's scary how tired I am at the end of the day, though! Gonna miss my daily long walks ;-)

Hi Claire,
I'm very glad to see you've got a new job! Congratulations!
I hope you enjoy it, and that it works out well for you.

As you drive down the steep hill (Bison Hill, wonder why it's called that? :)) from the zoo, there is a small car park on the right. There are nice views towards Ivinghoe Beacon, along the Downs and over the Vale of Aylesbury. There are several paths you can walk along, up and down, over Whipsnade Downs, without coming across the masses of people that visit the adjacent Dunstable Downs. Apart from the views, the paths on the steep slope are good for Chalk Downland wildflowers (at the right time, obviously) and I've seen Chalkhill Blue butterflies there.
Regards,
Pete

Hi Pete
Yep, saw the elephants, I think they were my favourite part especially when one of the youngsters was chasing after a wallaby the other side of the fence!
It was a shame about the weather but we warmed ourselves up with a pub meal in Aston Clinton on the way home!
I could see the potential for some lovely views in that area so I will be heading back!

Hi Claire,
I see you were at Whipsnade Zoo the other day - just a couple of miles from where I live. Shame the weather wasn't too good for you. Did you see the elephants being taken for a walk?
