Hi D, we're coping OK but the littlies are a bit muddy underfoot in places . I thought they'd been stolen 3 days ago, I walked and ran over all thirty six acres looking for them, eventually found them next door, I hadn't seen them because they were hiding behind a load of stuff, noshing the grass.Little Darlings ! ! The Cobs are fine, and the dogs are bringing in loads of wet and mud, but what can you do ? they've gotta go out and in., and out and in etc...How are you doin'? How's your bunny wabbits? that one I had ill completely recovered, and as it's been so mild I managed to get him back out in the barn, which was good. Have you thought about Christmas yet? OOPS ! ! SORRY ! ! Wash my mouth out with soap ! !.......Poe....xx
We have experienced heavy rain for the last three days and although the sun shines as I write this on Friday morning, bad news is breaking about the aftermath. South Lakes has many closed roads making it difficult to get around. We’re not so bad here but look out over fields covered in water. If you log on to BBC Radio Cumbria or Lakeland FM you will be able to see images of the situation.
There’s a policeman lost in Workington and two bridges have been washed away in the northwest of the county. Much of the damage around Kendal is to developments on the River Kent’s flood plain unfortunately.
I might pop down to Newby Bridge later and have a look at the River Leven as it leaves Windermere. I’ll post an image or two if poss. Thanks for your message and concern. Apologies – this is a blanket message to all.
No, I don't talk proper Geordie. Geordies are from the Tyne area of Newcastle and sometimes I can't understand them. A Mackam is from the Wear area of Sunderland and a Moggie is from the Teesside area of Middlesbrough. I live about 6 miles west of Middlesbrough, the accent does differ a lot, I live 40 miles south of Newcastle upon Tyne and 50 miles north of York. So really my accent is cross between a Geordie and Yorkshire, but us Teessider's have our own local slang, say we call the kids...Bairn.
I could email it to you, if you could give me your email addy. I've lost it somehow.
