Would be delighted with any feedback good or bad but constructive please. www.brian-scott.net

Your site all looks nicely laid out and the images load quickly. I would perhaps consider simplifying the home page by just referring to the various galleries in terms of 'Fungi', 'Insects' etc, rather than the longer form that you currently have (i.e. 'Photographs of fungi taken around my home and nature reserves' etc). This may make the home page and the various links look a bit cleaner.
Not everyone keen on wildlife will want to see the zoo animals, but that's obviously a personal choice.
Otherwise, you've made a good start.

| | | Re: New website Feedback required. You've got a number of broken links. It seems that some backslashes have been inserted in the URLs for the index pages. All slashes should look forward / |

| | | Re: New website Feedback required. Any chance you can be a bit more specific as I cannot seem to find the broken ones.
Cheers for the feedback.
Would save me looking at every one to find them. |

| | | Re: New website Feedback required. It seems to be all the thumbnail/animal ones eg: http://www.brian-scott.net/%5CAnimals%5Cindex.html (th "%5C" is a backslash when translated.
I've tried in Firefox and Opera and get the same results.
If I delete the backslash I can get to the correct page and they look fine (I liked the blue tadpoles).
I took a look at the code and all the images (src img) urls are correct. The a href ones all have backslashes from what I can see. They just need to be corrected to forward slash and it should be ok. |

Nice clean images, found 3 errors on my quick look round
1) check your characters on the copyright request on the front page
2) Fungi, birds & dragonflies: the titles all read fungi
3) insects title has been misspelled.
Other than that seems ok. Viewed under Safari 5.x on iOS 4.3 iPad
Hope this helps

| | | Re: New website Feedback required. Steve hopefully I have sort out the errors you pointed out.
Words I have tried the Animal ones in IE and Chrome and cannot find any faulty ones??.
So I don't understand what is happening there.
Brian
Thanks again for any feedback |

| | | Re: New website Feedback required. It works for me in Chrome and IE, but there is a problem. Both those browsers 'forgive' the backslash and treat it as a forward slash. Firefox/Opera are less forgiving so the pages break. It should be pretty easy to fix if you are comfortable amending code in Notepad.
I'll check the thread tomorrow... too late for me now! |

| | | Re: New website Feedback required. Brian,
I've taken a screen-shot of the source code and highlighted the problem links so you can see what I mean. The highlighted links have the back slashes. To correct it you need to open the file (index.html) on your computer in notepad, and simply replace the \ with a /
Save the file and then re-upload it to your site. It will then be fine.

| | | Re: New website Feedback required. Morning Brian,
To confirm the items I flagged appear resolved. Looks ok, runs a little sluggish but that could be the transpose errors on the back slash.
Jobs a good un!
