Zenfolio updates

Just a quick heads up for all the Zenfolio users,

If youve not already noticed they have added some really good updates that allow you to completely alter the look of your site

Ive now got a new Hompage with links to my pics etc,didnt take long to do either,take a look.

Yours is looking excellent Keith

I've had a play with mine too and I don't think I've finished exploring just what can be done with new layouts yet tho I'm fairly well pleased at the min with the way it is

The one that knocks my socks off is the full frame slide show in the galleries - it really makes a world of difference being able to see images large and really get a feel for what the photographer was thinking or hoping to capture cos you can see all sorts of elements in each photo.

Funny that, I have been playing with mine, too, and have - finally, after a LOT of tweaking - managed to get a slideshow on the front page and then the galleries and collections on the inside.

Does anyone know how to get the slideshow working so that ALL the photos appear in it and not just one Gallery or collection? I can't work out how to do this unless, of course, you can't.

Have to agree some excellent new features have been added to Zenfolio. Just done a complete re-design of my site and like Pauline said I don't think I have fully explored everything just yet and may make further changes.

There is a lot more to Zenfolio than meets the eye at first. I joined it last week and I am still finding new things.

I think it might have something to do with the defrault setting on custom settings - I think that makes every page behave the same way ........ I think I might have ended up with the slideshow and uniformity by accident cos I don't remember instructing it exactly - except for poss that default button on the right of the yellow bar in customising ............ try it only if you're confident you can undo it if you don't like what it does .......... don't just follow me blindly

your slideshow can only be of one Gallery or collection,according to the zen forums lots of people are asking for some sort of randomising so hopefully it might happen down the line

Yes the opening page slideshow has to be either one chosen Gallery to feature - I'm thinking of changing mine monthly - or you can pick your best shots and prepare a slide show in a new Gallery (called slideshow on mine!) and use that - then the shots appear random but are actually pre chosen by you - have a look at mine if I'm not explaining well enough (its early and I'm lacking sleep and the new shower installation isn't going exactly to plan - chaos reigns here at the min and the chaps are due back this morning ....)

I haven't yet decided if I will update my layout but I have been trying some alternatives. Your explanations however have confirmed how I thought the 'slideshow' would operate.

I must be the only one who doesn't like the slide show on the opening page.

But then, I've never been keen on sites that open with an 'intro' and always hit the 'skip intro' button (if they have one).

One persons meat, another persons poison, as they say.

The other improvements to Zenfolio are great though.
