| | | My First Website Effort Hi,
Just set up my first quick website effort at: Home (Jeremy Inglis Photography) .
I know nothing about web design (obviously!), but wonder if you might have a quick look and tell me what you think (be gentle!).
Cheers,
Jeremy. |

| | | Re: My First Website Effort Evening Jeremy,
A great start. I especially like the Chough shots. Lots of content, good descriptions, I'll be back to keep up with the developments. Nice to see your work having been published like that... I think it makes a good addition to your site.
Oh, where did you see the Black-throated Thrush?
Take care, Jason

| | | Re: My First Website Effort A lovely site Jeremy with some wonderful shots, I particularly liked the toadstool shot, which is a Parasol fungi but not sure of the exact species, I especially liked the setting with the sea in the background.
Will be visiting again for future updates.

| | | Re: My First Website Effort Hi,
Thanks both for your kind comments.
Ron, thanks for the fungi I.D. I'll try to find the exact species and add it to the caption.
Jason, the Black-throated Thrush turned up in someone's back garden here in Swansea a couple of years back, only about a mile from where I live. I'm not really a twitcher, but couldn't resist going to see it - about half-a-dozen times!
Thanks again. |

| | | Re: My First Website Effort You've chosen some very good images to share on your site - the birds in particular really appeal to me.
I like the simple design and easy to follow layout. Not sure if your home page really needs to say 'Home' at the top, although having a title works for the galleries.
You obviously have a pretty large archive, judging by my quick pop over to your stock photo site . If you were to add more to your website, then my suggestion would be to keep the number of images in each Gallery category small enough that the viewer doesn't then have to keep scrolling down and down and down... (hope you don't mind me suggesting this, particularly if that's already your plan - and I'm new to all this website stuff myself!).

| | | Re: My First Website Effort Some great images Jeremy and on the whole a very nice site.
My only niggle is that as you add more photographs to each section the pages are going to get longer and more scrolling is going to be needed as Nutmeg mentioned.
My idea would be to add extra pages, say birds 1, 2, 3, and so on or probably better still show thumbnail images with links to a full size image on a separate page.
Just my thoughts but still a great site, I look forward to seeing it grow. |

The landscape shots are very beautiful I especially like dusk over Swansea Bay & the shot on your title page.
Great site.

| | | Re: My First Website Effort Thanks for the suggestions.
Rachel and Ollie, I had thought about the length of the pages, and indeed adding clickable thumbnails which bring up the larger image when clicked. Trouble is, I don't know how to do it! In fact, I'm not sure if it's even possible in Google Sites. But I will look into it.
Thanks again,

| | | Re: My First Website Effort Nice site but hate the watermarks, or whatever they are called. They totally spoil it for me
Have a look at my site, and how when you roll over the image the watermark appears. Cant you incorporate that somehow?
