| | | Dae's Website I just came across this section of the WAB's website, having never taken a look before. Wow!!! , we've got some absolutely amazing photographers on this website. I'm completely blown away by the talent here. My work cannot compare with this level of talent, but I wanted to share my/our website anyway.
My husband and I put a lot of work into putting this website together from scratch. It's not nearly as pretty as the free or pay-for websites, but we're very proud of it. It showcases both mine and my husband's photography - with a few additions from my grandfather (Rick Vanzwol) in Minnesota, USA. I'd really be pleased if anyone has some spare time to take a look. I know I've probably got some incorrect ID's on some of my flowers and perhaps a few of my birds, but I hope if anybody comes across something that's incorrectly identified that they'll let me know.
Also, any suggestions or criticisms would be very much appreciated.
Again, fantastic work on all the websites here! |

| | | Re: Dae's Website Looks really good You have some great photos on there.
Just a couple of things for you:
Your flatfish from the NMA is a plaice (distinctive orange spots are the giveaway), and I'm pretty sure your 2nd unknown anemone is a Dahlia anemone, very common in the UK.
I dont' know if there's a way you could break up the birds section though? You have a lot of photos over a lot of pages, and it puts me off looking through them all a bit. I also didn't see your search bar easily, so maybe that's something you could make more obvious?
Anyway, that's just a ocuple of points that struck me, and it's just nitpicking Looks a great site, wish I could write my own! |

| | | Re: Dae's Website Thank you Ruth! I'm glad you liked it I'll pass on the green woodpecker compliments, my husband will appreciate that.
Thanks for the ID's Zan, I really appreciate it. I just sort of took a punt at ID'ing that fish, I just couldn't figure out where to look.
If you look at the bottom of the front page, you'll see the bird section divided up into sections as well - but perhaps that's not very obvious either - fairly simple. I'll look into that, thanks!
I would've never been able to put this together, my programmer husband was the whiz behind putting this together, I just got the animal information and the photos together. Time consuming, but no brilliance on my part |

I think the "everyone's photo's are better that mine" affects a lot of us

| Tell me about it!!
Lovely site, it's nice to see that it's set up with information about the subjects in the photos as well.
I was pleased to see the Crested Screamers from Slimbridge as well...I was fascinated by these when I visited a few weeks ago They seem to spend most of their time preening each other and being lovely dovey. |

| | | Re: Dae's Website Ron, absolutely - I think many of us (other than the uber-confident) are effected by lack of confidence. I feel like a complete dunce most of the time, but every now and again I get that shot that gives me my confidence back.
My husband on the other hand (who has many photos on that website) has some great talent, his photos frequently surpass mine. So proud of him
Nicola, everytime I see those screamers, they're always up on their rock, preening or acting lovey, so perhaps there'll be baby screamers in the future??
Thanks for looking, both of you! |
