| | | clumber park Hi All,
my website "fungi-of-clumber-park" is a pictorial record of my finds to date from Clumber Park, while its not intended to be an full blown guide for the correct indentification of fungi , i have tried to make it as accurate as i can,
you will find some errors and some poor photos ,which i will update as and when i have better id and photos,
you may find some species are not represented yet, this is mainly because i have not yet found them or not identified them as yet(if ever )
any comments are most welcome (good or bad)
it is a commercial free site with just some links to other fungi sites etc,

thanks for the comments, i think you are right about the lack of information, so i have made a start adding info to the pages (dont expect overnight results,as it will be a long job )
i did not set out to make a website that was a fully fledged identification one, but agree it needs a bit more in the way of information on each species, |

| | | Re: clumber park Hi, i visit Clumber Park quite a few times but i must say i never seem to find the same amount of fungi that you have seen,
ive had a quick visit to your site and already spotted two fungi on it that i have been able to identify from my "what are these?" list,
so its proved helpfull already,
the only thing i can comment on is the size of the pictures, i found them a little small to get much detail from some of them but overall i think its great,

| | | Re: clumber park Nice to hear of another Clumber Park fan. I go there very regularly, although not for the fungi as I cannot get down to their level to do them justice.
It's also a superb site for birds and insects. |

i dont get as often as i would like to though,
i know just what you mean about getting down to the fungi,(more a problem of getting back up in my case ) and the birds are too quick for me and the insects too small
ive just had a quick peek at your website and must say what a huge array of outstanding photos you have on there,
i posted a comment on the website of welsh lensman saying the same about his photos, and that i had that i had thought of making my own website but having seen the quality of his photos that i would have to postpone that until my photography skills improved by a large margin,
and having seen your photos im more convinced my skills have a very long way to go before that can happen
but i still get lots of enjoyment out of the visits to clumber and from my own pics taken there

tapinela | Funny you should mention them. I must have been to Clumber Park literally hundreds of times. I have yet to spot any deer. |

| | | Re: clumber park I must walk round some of these places with my eyes closed! I like ten minutes drive from Clumber Park and have been many times but always seem to miss these sights!
Next time I must get right off the beaten track and keep my eyes peeled! |

| | | Re: clumber park Sorry kiltoncomp, didn't comment on your site did I?!
I can't claim to have ever really looked out for different fungi but your website certainly makes me think I will next time I'm at Clumber.
As suggested by ron1863, a bit more info on each species would be good but it's a great start and gives me some things to look out for! Thanks |

i was going to give you the locations we have spotted the deer in Clumber, but having talked to someone in Clumber this morning, who claimed to have recently found a deer carcass that had been killed and butchered, presumably by poachers,
i dont think giving out the location on a public site is a good idea
if you would like the locations let me know and i can pm it to you,
Tapinela.
ps: the same person also told us that there are lots of Mink around the park, especially the lakeside area, | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
