| | | PMG's Wildlife Images..... Thanks Stu - what a lovely idea
After at least 18 months of procrastination I suddenly got the urge in August and from nowhere the ability (I must have been weighing it up subconciously ) to upload to a hosting site (not complicated like building your own site) and it was just plain easy to do. I spent 14 hours a day for a week (cos I was off work sick!) prepping pics and it all just came together That would be me all over - do nothing for ages then suddenly go for something full tilt
There are still areas waiting for me to add comments to but the pics get added as and when we manage to get out with the cameras and get lucky - which hasn't been much or often since our main hols in June. Thats the nice thing about a website tho - they are never finished - they grow and reflect your growth........
Its mainly British Wildlife and is shared with my hubby......... hope you like it....

| | | Re: PMG's Wildlife Images..... Hi PMG.
I've just been browsing your website and have to say - it is quite outstanding.
Whilst looking at youre pics, I noticed the watermark "Pauline Mellor Greenalgh Images".
Now - could it be that you are THE Pauline Mellor, author of one of my favourite (and now extremely dog-eared) books "North West Nature - Exploring Nature Reserves And Country Parks with Pauline Mellor" ?
I await your reply with baited breath.
Regards

Oh Heck I've been rumbled Twas me that did it guv...........
Tho hardly a celebrity - a 4,000 print run and half of those remaindered - it wasn't enough to get me on Wogan!!
Goodness it was a long time ago and actually it was the book that got me my ranger job - whose 20 year service award turned up on my doormat a couple of weeks back!
Its nice to hear that its a favourite tho Mike - I always wondered how it went down with folks as it caused such a stir with the local wildlife trust folks: I was slated at the time for writing about natural history in a non-scientific way but I have always firmly believed that nature is open to all and I wanted ordinary everyday folk to go out and enjoy like I did - and still do - it was never aimed at those who were already knowledgeable on the subject and knew the reserves and other places...........

North West Nature is an absolute gem. (plug plug - I can see thousands of wabbers trying to get hold of a copy as I speak).
No - seriously It's a great little book, which I've made good use of over the years, and its even better to know that it's author is a longstanding and continuing (given your uploading problems recently ) Wabber.
best regards

| | | Re: PMG's Wildlife Images..... Thanks Mike - don't know about the shrinking violet - think you might change your mind bout that if you actually met me - I got called a gobby mare the other day and I admit to being a bit short-fused recently
Glad you liked it and actually use/d it - that was what I was hoping when I was talked into doing it - that it would actually get used - fantastic thanks again.......
Pauline (Mellor Greenhalgh!!)
Or as one of my neighbours used to call me 'Agatha Mellor' Hahahahaha! |
