This will be more central to the areas I assume you will be visiting. There is an unmade road to Thorpeness which takes you on to Aldeburgh.
Ignore that google map provided - it's very misleading as Sizewell Common is further inland.

We have stayed here on several occasions in the past - even taking mam and dad when they had the motorhome .... its a lovely site - we loved it - mam even swam in the sea there while dad built a sand castle on the beach - happy days.

Beware there is another campsite at Dunwich, also very nice, but also called 'Cliff House'. Both are right on the beach cliffs.
Both are about 3/4 mile walking to Minsmere. The Dunwich one gives you the chance of Dartford Warbler.

Cakes and Ales is flattish and a bit boring. Its was a WWII US bomber station.

But it is quite close to Theberton Woods if seeing the Purple Emperor is your thing. Not sure if they will be active in April though.
