This will be more central to the areas I assume you will be visiting. There is an unmade road to Thorpeness which takes you on to Aldeburgh.
Ignore that google map provided - it's very misleading as Sizewell Common is further inland.

But it is quite close to Theberton Woods if seeing the Purple Emperor is your thing. Not sure if they will be active in April though.
