Now don't all start putting your names down yet - but I;ve moved out of my Leighton Moss thread so we don;t carry on in there but I thought Dennis's idea was worth a float, plus I found they have a website (see above) which I didn't know about and as Dennis said Wayne (Welsh Lensman) knows this venue well ......... So if we want to have a read and a think and see how it goes .......

| | | Re: Llandeusant Red Kites Depending on family as usual, I'd be up for this. Missus and I have several friends over that way that we'd like to visit, so we need a nudge. |

| | | Re: Llandeusant Red Kites If Wayne is Lurking around I hope he will pop in as Wayne and Adrian and Clayton (all friends, are very knowledgeable)are more clued up on LLanduesant than I am. Wayne works a lot and if he can organise this then I'm sure he will make sure he has time off to meet you all.
Stay tuned in and if Wayne does not see this I'll e mail him or mention it in the Gallery to him. Unless someone beats me to it.
As well as LLanduesant there is the WWT at LLanelli that's not to far away. So perhaps two meets in one. .
Been told that the Wire Fencing has been moved closer so that the Kites are nearer when on ground etc.
THANK YOU Pauline for starting this off. Glad some of you are interested, lets hope more are as well.
Have a Great Xmas All.

| | | Re: Llandeusant Red Kites Ok I will chip in again - like I said I only started this to stop it continuing in and confusing the Leighton Moss 2013 thread
I have reservations about Llanduesant - altho I;ve never been I'm slightly of the opinion that Gigrin has better photographic opportunities esp from the new big hide - which ok is £20 per person - but taken over twelve months then one visit is not too bad cost-wise? Also for me Gigrin is nearer, less mileage - not by a lot but enough to make me think about it. And then there is Gilfach nearby which I think shows a lot of promise and I'm hoping to get back there in the breeding season ..... hopefully this coming breeding season but I may have to put this on the back burner too ....
On the up side there is the Llanelli Wetland Centre which does interest me but again due to my illness this year we now have 4 hols booked for 2012 as Ian missed out this year and his mam missed out completely with no hols at all! So planning anything further for 2012 is more or less ruled out for us .... those of you taking a big interest in Llanduesant/Llanelli will need to get your heads together while I bow out as its unlikely I will be able to do this one

| | | Re: Llandeusant Red Kites We went there last April when we were staying with our son in Swansea.
Make sure you have a map as the place is not easy to find.
We arrived after the feeding - no map! There were still a few birds around and plenty to see on the way there.
The viewing is quite adequate although there is no tower hide as at Gigrin.
Here's one I took earlier (at Llandeusant)
