| | Leighton Moss/Silverdale Area May 2013 Now you might think I'm mad ... (well there is no 'think' about it ) but I have decided to start this thread now, having been asked by a couple of people already, so that folks know what we are thinking/planning.
Because of my illness this summer our Dorset holiday was lost but the company have offered us to rebook it sometime in the next 12 months and we have chosen May as we have other breaks booked for June etc. As Ian can't take anymore time off we can't fit this meet in for 2012, so for 2013 we are thinking about mid to late May as its one of the best times for the area and its specialities. We would hope that one of the Lady's Slipper Orchids should be in flower, perhaps a Duke of Burgundy butterfly or two will still be about and possibly ospreys. Then there may be badger cubs ...plus who can forget the bats at the Corn Mill weir - it would be great if The Woodman could join us and give that superb talk and demo again And if Ian can suss it out this next May there may be a real surprise up our sleeve
Pauline & Ian
... and if you needed any more incentives there's always Ians bacon butties while photographing the birds on site |

| | | Re: Leighton Moss/Silverdale Area May 2013 It's quite far for us, but I'm really tempted by the Lady's Slipper Orchid and Duke of Burgundy Butterfly. We can't say for sure yet, but it's a definite maybe.
Bacon butties sound good too.

| | | Re: Leighton Moss/Silverdale Area May 2013 Bob's just got back from work and is keen to go, as long as he can get the time off work, so that's almost definite.
I don't have sauce on my bacon butties, I'm a Scot, sauce is far too close to being a vegetable.
