One of my regular patches is WWT London, where the Birdwatch Fayre is to be held in April. What the website doesnt tell you is that you will only be able to attend on one of the three days. Also the car park will cost £10 per car. And if you are a WWT member you can enter for free, though you do still have to register. Also during the three day event you cannot just go to the WWT reserve, you have to pay for a ticket for the Fayre. |

Debs, didn't you become a member of the WWT? I've never been, and we're (that's me and the BF, not a royal 'we'  ) really looking forward to it.

I'm going with the other half on Friday, hoping the weather will be kind, Barnes is a lovely place to go to, might be a bit more busy with this then usual though.. |

... and while you're there, why not keep an eye out for other animals. There are good populations of ladybirds and odonates as well as other insects so keep a note of them!
In particular, I'm interested in records of the water ladybird, Anisosticta novemdecimpunctata, which is said to be s species in decline - I suspect that's because few people look for it! |

Had a excellent day yesterday, the Chris Watson and Simon King talks were brilliant and we managed to dodge the really heavy April showers during the day... here's some cute Moorhen chicks I filmed during one of those breaks in the showers... have a coot action film to do shortly too Moorhen chicks - London WWT Wetland Centre, London Birdwatch - April 2012 - YouTube |
