I think it is my "right eye" wink.
I'm left eye dominant and squint my right eye almost closed when shooting.
That obviously raises my mouth to look like a smile.
Either that or MTR has just shouted "Ring Ouzel"
That is probably why glsammy has looked around!

Those rats must see me coming, it's only ever been individuals on my regular walks round. Must do something with that feeder. Mind you, I saw four big ones plain as day on the feeders at Blacktoft today too, the pesky critters aren't easily beaten. |

| | | Re: Brilliant Day Out With The Lads Popped down to Kings Mill myself today to give my baby niece a bit of fresh air and introduce her to the birds, the 'whack-whacks' as she refers to them. Inevitably she soon fell asleep. Still, it got her away from the tyranny of CBeebies.
Did any of you chaps find the 1st-winter Scaup during your visit?
It's been showing very well lately, roosting in the daytime with the Tufted Duck and Pochard very close to the bank. The bird turned up in early January when it stayed in the middle for the most part, so I suppose it must have grown un confidence. Been the best local rarity for weeks.
A few more of this morning's birds... |
