| | | Re: Rutland water bird fair. Hi,
it was discussed (briefly) here in may bird fair
But Yes I think I'll be heading along on the Sunday unless something else crops up. Went a couple of years ago and had a great day, last year clashed with a holiday
I seemed to come back with loads of useful information so it was well worth a visit |

| | | Re: Rutland water bird fair. Haha, I will leave that you you. . I usually go on the friday mainly due to the people I go with. I have only been on a saturday once but to be honest there isnt much difference other than that things may have been sold out by the end of the weekend. You will enjoy it, its a great event. |

To some extent the best day to go depends on what you are after. Go as early as possible if you want to find the best secondhand book bargains, go late if you want to try and persuade sellers to give you extra discounts to save them taking as much left over stock back with them (you won't always get them to agree!).
Some sellers keep some copies of books etc that they have on special offer to sell on each day, so it doesn't always matter which day you go for these offers, you just need to get there early on uyour chosen day!
Of course, you might want to chose the day based on talks that you are interested in seeing, or book signings that you want to be present for.
I wasn't going to go this year, but it looks like I'm now going to be there on the Saturday.
PS. If you aren't allowed to spend much, you will need to be very restrained and/or take limited cash and leave plastic and cheque books behind (or perhaps just be prepared for some serious grovelling! ). | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
