Thanks to Robin I've seen those beautiful Purple Emperors. They remained high up in the trees at Broxbourne and I'm glad I had some expert help to find them - it made all the difference. And I've learned a lot. Now I can go it alone. I know where, when, how etc. I'd never have got this far so quickly without knowing where to look (it's been two long years).
It's great to hear that they are more common than I thought. I now have the names of other places to look for them and that we visit fairly regularly.
