| | | Loch Garten meet Sunday 14th August Anyone fancy a meet up at Loch Garten in August? The ospreys will still be there!
I'm doing a week's volunteering at the reserve which ends on Saturday 13th but I haven't got to rush home so if any local members or WABbers on holiday fancy a meet we can organise something.

| | | Re: Loch Garten meet Sunday 14th August Oh goody! That's four of us anyway (fingers crossed for your hubby, Audrey). Be nice to meet you again Vince - the Farnes seems so long ago already.
Let's see if we can rustle up any more...

| | | Re: Loch Garten meet Sunday 14th August Yep it does seem a long while ago Dave, looking forward to meeting you again and of course all WAB members that can make it.
I’ll be more than happy to pick any one up en-route from Newcastle if they want to come along.

| | | Re: Loch Garten meet Sunday 14th August I was checking back through some of my fungi pics from last year and found that Hydnellum peckii were out on the 14th of August.
Abernethy Forest is a good place for some types of fungi, in fact I'm going to the HBRG spring meeting next Saturday where there will be a talk titled “Abernethy Forest, the most important UK site for tooth fungi?"
I could do a recce the week before the meet and see what I can find in Abernethy if anyone would be interested in fungi.

| | | Re: Loch Garten meet Sunday 14th August After the company of fellow WABbers I’m really interested in finding some Northern moss spp.
If I don’t get taken up on my offer of giving a lift to anyone, I will travel up on the Friday.
Any interesting Crags nearby Audrey?

Vince | Uath Lochans in Inshriach Forest near Kincraig has some nice crags, and also should have Hynellum peckii if you are into fungi as well. Forestry Commission - Inshriach Forest - Uath Lochans Trail
It's a Forestry Comission site and has a few walks around it, including one which goes along the base of the crags. Slightly different from the link above, to get to the crags, follow the white markers anti-clockwise and you'll get there more quickly.
Regards, Audrey.
