In the end it was just the three of us for this meet, Audrey and husband Bob, and myself. Highlights, apart from the company and the fabulous scenery, were the wild flowers - frog orchid, lesser twayblade, devil's bit scabious, fox and cubs, and several more that I'll rememnber when I download the photos.
Many, many thanks to Audrey and Bob for being so generous with their time and local knowledge. And especially to Bob for hanging on to my trousers while I was leaning out to photograph the black darter!
Dave P. | Welcome back and down to earth with a bump eh? Arn't the Cairngorms something else?! I wish I had been well enough I would have come up for a few days and thoroughly enjoyed the place and the company - maybe next time.
Lookin forward to the pics esp the black darter! I too got a shade too close to going in headfirst at that spot and no-one there when I did it! It was very close to a dunking of the camera and me
I bet you've really enjoyed that and will be going again!

Not sure I should admit this but from the whole fortnight there's 5717 of them. And I did some editing of obvious duffers on the laptop while I was away so I'm sure I took over 6000 all told. Quite a lot of landscapes as you might expect. It's not just the Cairngorms, the whole of Northern Scotland just kept making me go "wow!" Quote:
