Here's a taster for your perusal. | All my May weekends look pretty busy, so I'm not going to be able to make that day. A shame, but I'll probably find myself a day during the week to go.

| | | re: Goring for Clubtails on Saturday 14th May Yep, on Thames. It's not too far from our part of Kent. Jules and Chris are near Gravesend which is 65 miles in a straight line or 99 using the M25. A bit less for me, unless I pick Neil up and go north round the M25. If I'm doing that I could always detour through Watford if you fancy joining us.

| | | re: Goring for Clubtails on Saturday 14th May Thanks for the offer Dave but it's not far for me - about 30 miles. I usually go there for the monkey orchids at Hartslock, but the 14th will probably be a bit too early.

| | | Re: Goring for Clubtails on Saturday 14th May Hello fellow dragonfly enthusiasts!
Right- bit more detail for the meet.
The nearest carpark for kick off is off of Station Road, Goring where there are loos before we set out. The nearest postcode I can get you is RG8 9HB, which may set you outside a little dry cleaning shop but this is right at the entrance to the carpark. By the way we have to pay- but I'm not sure how much.
I'm going to suggest a 10 ish meet and we'll get moving after intros and perhaps a coffee/tea.
There are two ways to get to the bankside and bridge where the Clubtails haul out before emerging ( they tend to use solid structures quite a distance from the river).
I think we'll have a vote on what way to go once we're all happy.
It isn't a short walk, so be prepared for a walk either past houses and across fields or alternatively through Goring and out along the walkway by the Thames. Either way we can do a bit of a circular job.
Depending on the weather etc- don't forget a packed lunch if we're out all day.
I'm not promising Clubtails- that would be a bit daft as nature doesn't always do what you expect- when you expect but what I can offer is a beautiful location, with bits of the Thames at its most stunning.
There may also be the opportunity to see Red Kite- even over the town itself. So bring your best lenses for all possibilities.
I can also offer you a friendly meet with a few laughs with like minded folk!
Also if you want my mobile number for the day- just send me a PM and I'll get that to you.
