You are allowed to picnic on the benches outside the cafe, other than
the ones under cover!!

I shall be taking a packed lunch.

Colin, do us all a big favour, stick to topic and resist making comments on here that other members find offensive.
Trying to stir up trouble is not big or clever !!

is it going to be sunny - or are to be treated to yet more great brittish summer weather (rain, fog, hail , minature tornados , blizzard conditons etc) that is the question ?

Re: Revised Minsmere Meet 21/22 July

shouldnt worry about the weather as hides are close together. I chose the North wall east Hide sluice South hide west Hide route then after lunch Bittern Hide and finally Island Mere. Try west hide in the evening for roosting Waders. Normally waders on migration stop off for the night and this is a great time to see them from West Hide (Always good for waders)

There should be Little Stints Green and Wood sandpipers there and some my be taxing juveniles

Island Mere can be a good for roosting Med Gulls too.
Don't forget to check between the hides as Garden warblers are normally seen along the dune Brambles.

After all the talk of dudes and such I thought it would be worthwhile mentioning this again.
from boddies first post which started this thread

All my suggested meetings are the same. Go with the flow. So if you fancy a day out in the sun with friends please come.

Cheers

Minsmere
Buy in cafe from 10.00 onwards - they're plastic wrapped
so will go in rucksack.

Saxmundham
Somerfield stores does them
I _think_ the cafe in the high steet and baker does, but I'm not certain.

Leiston
Solar (Co-Op) has own bakery and does sannies and rolls
pasties etc.

Smiths Bakers in High Street (south end) does better!

"Comestibles" about two doors from Smiths bakers also
does them, but I've never been in there!

Darsham
just north of level crossing there is jet garage with cafe and they do them
(well used to a year or so back)

My birthday is on the 22nd. I think you are confused Jules, in that you thought I was going to be 19 (years old), but no, my birthday is this coming Sunday.

Re: Revised Minsmere Meet 21/22 July

Have we agreed that Davids suggestion of the meeting place at 9.30 is fine? I think it is a good suggestion.

I will be there, with David, on the Saturday and Sunday mornings.

If anyone needs my mobile please PM me asap as I will be leaving at midday tomorrow.

Re: Revised Minsmere Meet 21/22 July

The weather is looking good for you guys. Here is Leiston's weather (which is just around the corner)
BBC - Weather Centre - 5 Day Forecast in Celsius for Leiston, United Kingdom

It's a bit different to the weather predicted on TV's weather report this morning.

John

I was hoping to make this meet, but a family problem makes that impossible.

I hope you all have a great time, it's good to see the weather forecast is changing in you favour.
