| | | Re: Mince Pie Meet at Sevenoaks, December 28, 2010 I haven't totally given up yet. The only part of the five day forecast for our area that has changed since this morning is that Friday has gone from Fog to Mist. Until then it's Fog all the other days.
Looking at the route down, Bedford is the same as Coventry as is Hemel Hempstead. I can't seem to pick up a location that would cover the M25 so I'm not sure what the weather would be like there but the forecast for Chatham & Maidstone is almost the same as Coventry's (according to the Met Office).
You seem to have a different weather forecast than I have. What site do you use because you may have a more reliable one.

| | | Re: Mince Pie Meet at Sevenoaks, December 28, 2010 1 more sleep to Sevenoaks!
Weather permitting that is.
Just ran the BBC online weather forecast video & it doesn't look good.
Heavy snow expected in the early hours moving across the south east.
Fingers crossed it misses eh.
We are really looking forward to tomorrow.
Adam can't wait to try out his christmas present! (I got him a new camera. )
Ho hum, see you all tomorrow, we hope!

| | | Re: Mince Pie Meet at Sevenoaks, December 28, 2010 I use Netweather ( http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=uk7dayx2) most often but don't know if they're any more reliable than anyone else. I don't put much faith in weather forecasts.

| | | Re: Mince Pie Meet at Sevenoaks, December 28, 2010 Hi Dave
In some ways that forecast is worse than the one I use.
Mine states foggy conditions but the one you use (and I have also checked for Chatham & Maidstone) is for icy rain from midnight to 6am tonight.
If that is true I urge everyone to be very careful with your driving.
With that forecast in mind, together with the Met Office forecast, I have decided that I will not be coming down tomorrow. That's a real shame for me as I was probably moving onto Suffolk then Norfolk after the day out in Kent.
Hopefully another meet can be arranged sooner rather than later as I need a day out with you guys.

| | | Re: Mince Pie Meet at Sevenoaks, December 28, 2010 I've been looking at the BBC forecast and it looks like it will be okay. The snow that is moving across over night will be followed by rain and the temperatures will be above freezing tomorrow so anything that might fall should melt.
I'm definitely on for it and will be bringing a little drop of mulled wine to warm the cockles. |

We're bringing:-
mini chocolate santas & snowmen
festive flake cakes
& mini crackers.
See you all tomorrow. x

| | | Re: Mince Pie Meet at Sevenoaks, December 28, 2010 I could do but that to be on the safe side I would have to allow for a 3 hour drive. That would mean I would have to get up at 5am, or earlier. I haven't done any food for tomorrow so would have to do that so I would have to allow that hour before I depart.
It's not the weather down your area I am worried about it's the possible icy road conditions from my area that I'm worried about and the forecast is still confirming those conditions.

| | | Re: Mince Pie Meet at Sevenoaks, December 28, 2010 I've just watched the BBC weather and it doesn't look good in the Midlands and East Midlands area. If I were you I don't think I'd risk it either John.
Neil and I are planning a trip to Salthouse and Titchwell later in Jan. Maybe you (and anyone else who fancies it) could make that one. No definite date yet as it depends on when I get my big lens back.
Mince pies are all packed ready for tomorrow, so I'm off to beddy-byes now!

Let me know the dates your are going to Norfolk and, weather permitting, I will come over to meet you. Will it be for the weekend because if it is I will book myself into the Backpackers at Brancaster.
For those attending the Mince Pie meet, have a great time and I hope the bad weather holds off.
Sorry I won't be there to meet you but let me wish you all a Happy New Year.

Road conditions here are awful this morning, the rain has frozen to the existing ice on the roads, paths etc... just standing up is not easy at the moment
Hpe you all have a great day.
