Slimbridge - who's up for a WAB meet?

Who fancies a meeting at Slimbridge? I would love to meet any board members who are up for it. I am suggesting Slimbridge as I've never been there before but if anyone else as any ideas please throw them in (including the best times to go). I live in North Somerset so as close to that area would be preferred - oh yeah, and somewhere with good disabled loo's is essential! *lol*,

I'm in the North West - but Slimbridge is accessible easy enough off the M5 and I haven't been for a LONG time.

I'd be up for it

Re: Slimbridge - who's up for a WAB meet?

I have been there loads of times but never really tire of it so I would be up for it. Don't forget if your not members then it's not cheap. Following are the costs.

Members are Free

Adult £7.45
Concession (over 60 years, full-time students, disabled adults) £6.15
Child (4 -16 years) £4.35
Family (2 adults & 2 children, 4 - 16 years) £20.35
Child (under 4 years) Free

Or why don't you join. Here are the costs of becoming a member for a year.

2 Adults £45
2 Adults (Concession) £32
Family (2 adults + children) £50
Family (1 adult + children) £42
1 Adult £30
1 Adult Concession £22
Fellow £100

Fellow = includes FREE entry for one ‘family’ guest.
Concession = 60+, disabled, unemployed,students in full-time education.

Heehee, I get it for £6.15 .

As for timings I'd have to speak to my Dad cos he works some weekends although he may well be able to take a day off during the week. Actually I'm not sure how a suggestion turned into me organising it! I'd much rather fit in around everyone else to be honest as you all have busier lives that I do Haha.

we could probably get a wheelchair in the boot of boddies motor without too much bother - so long as we kept our inessential kit to a minimum.

Re: Slimbridge - who's up for a WAB meet?

Someone needs to suggest a date then. I know I am in Italy for a week at the beginning of January - the dreaded recertification examinations and study, but should be fine after the 14th

Well, the next weekend is the 20/21st so it just depends who prefers Saturday or Sunday.

I vote Sunday .

Re: Slimbridge - who's up for a WAB meet?

Looks like the weekend of the 20th / 21st is a goer then. I have never been. Kept meaning to when I lived in Cheltenham but never got round to it.

Looking forward to it now

I'm going to try and make it, I can't promise, but I'd love to. Once a date is definite I'll look into getting some accommodation locally and do a couple of days there.

Gaina, I think you may have hit upon something here. Its not a million miles from Gill so she may be up for it also and we have quite a few members in the Gloucester area

Re: Slimbridge - who's up for a WAB meet?

AAAh I love it when a plan comes together . Shall we say Sunday then?

My parents are coming with me. Mam says 'Do you mind if Dad and I come along?' I said of course not! I would have been disappointed if they hadn't come with me!

I assume you can pay at the door or do you have to buy the ticket in advance?

I am sure you can pay when you get there. Sounds like a good day already. I think this will be a very popular meet
