I have even had my new glasses arrive early so that is a bonus as I wasn't expecting them until Dec 8th.

I know some good eating houses at reasonable prices.
Besides Martin Mere theres Mere Sands Wood 2 miles away 15mins drive then Marshside superb for wading birds and many other interesting things.
John has my mobile no if want to contact me.
Have a great day.

John | yep - If I pick you up at circa 8am then we can aim for an 8.30 RV at boddies place for around a 9am departure - that should get us to formby about 11.30-12. I dont know formby that well so perhaps mr Cheeky would like to suggest a meeting point there ( adj best spot for red squizells preferably).
I'll get onto the accom asap and let you guys know the plan early next week - am i right in thinking you would prefer a b+B john or is camping on the cards ?

Hi Eeyoue
Just inside the reserve is best to park.......... I will arrange everything with John on the phone and give him the best route.............. Theres a very good 2 for 1 restaurant near bye
Are you bringing a picnic lunch or would you like to go the restaurant for lunch eg Cammon steak £8.95 for two or mixed grill massive £11.95.............
We could also do Marshside after Formby Point only 20mins away........ I am informed there are snow buntings there.........
Where are you staying? If its near Marin Mere you are much better visiting there first and Mere Sands Wood................ let me know your final plans.
Cheers
Peter 1
Ps Theres a very good campsite near Martin Mere at Mere Brow 10mins away. The one nearest is closed. |

| | | Re: meetings! Here is a link to the Red Squirrel site at Formby. Red squirrel conservation and the Formby red squirrels
And here is where it is. Easy peasy to find I would have thought. Streetmap.co.uk- search results
Off the M57 to jnct 7, Turn left then pick up the A5207 to the A465. Turn right and keep going along there until you reach Formby. Still continue towards the other side of Formby where the road swings to the left and under the railway. This should be Victoria Road. Drive straight down there to the Visitor Centre.
Is that right Peter?
I will await the outcome of the final details as I will fit into whatever plans you make.
John

Also i was planning on bringing a stove and some scran (and some beer) - too much eating out stretches the budget a bit much for me
