| | | Xmas Elmley Marshes meet How about Monday 28 December 2009? This is a bank holiday as Boxing Day falls on a Saturday this year. Lets get out in the fresh air and walk off some of the turkey and Christmas pud!
I suggest 10.00 am in the car park as this will allow people to take a slow drive up from the entrance, looking out for various ducks, waders, BoPs and possibly even hares on the way.
For those who have never been there are loos but no other facilities. I'll bring a kettle with tea/coffee and also some mince pies to keep us going.
Full details of the reserve are here: The RSPB: Elmley Marshes

| | | Re: Xmas Elmley Marshes meet Well done Dave. I was thinking only the other day we were due another winter outing. Wifey's sister will be down from Carlisle again this Christmas and I'll be scratching my head with what to do to entertain her. We usually spend a morning at Rainham so a trip to Elmley will make a pleasant change.

| | | Re: Xmas Elmley Marshes meet Excellent! A good half dozen of us already - it was the mince pies that did it, wasn't it?
Are you sure it's too far Claire - it's good roads all the way from Reading and hopefully they'll be fairly quiet.
