Nope, even the boating lake in Helston is a no-no!

I don't want to take any chances with not getting the accommodation so I plan to phone up and book on Monday 15th February. Could those who have not yet said please let me know before then if you would like a bed in the bunkhouse? Don't forget to let me know which nights! If you won't know for definite by Sunday 14th but think you might want the bunkhouse then let me know that, too, and I'll see if they'll accept some provisional bookings along with the definite ones. It already looks like good value but they also offer discounts for bookings of 12 and above.
Mr Hobjob - would you like me to book a berth for your motor home?
A quick reminder of the current list...

Bob | I'd just take yer Sigma Bob. You're gonna be within feet (the terns nest right on the paths on Inner Farne and the Puffins are within 2 or 3 feet). I took my 400 prime and found I some of the birds were far too close and wished I'd taken me Bigma.
So save yer dosh & don't rent any lens. |

| | | Re: Farne Islands WAB Meet June 2010 Thanks for the heads up Tormentil. I have decided to combine two things I've wanted to do for a while. The week or ten days before the Farne Islands meet, I will be cycling and camping in the Outer Hebrides and as I travel back down to Cambridgeshire stop off for the Farne Island trip. I intend to drive up to Ullapool (maybe) and then get the ferry to Barra. Cycle through Barra, South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist, Harris and Lewis and back, wild camping along the way. At the moment my lounge is covered in OS maps and my shed has a bicycle in bits in it. I just need to work out timings for ferries and stuff to ensure that I am back to go on the Farne islands trip which should provide a splendid finish to what I hope will be an excellent fortnight.
I can't wait - I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. |

| | | Re: Farne Islands WAB Meet June 2010 I am thinking of booking the week off from work (as long as no more than two other people haven't picked the same dates).
If all is okay (and I should know tomorrow) I will sleep overnight in my car and meet up with you guys.
I will look at what you other guys are doing on the 8th and see if I can join you.

| | | Re: Farne Islands WAB Meet June 2010 I stayed here hotel tariff last year. Very reasonable rates, excellent brekkie and only a five minute walk to the harbour.
The bar in the evening operated on an "honesty" approach (serve & pay yourself), which I thought was quite novel for this day & age. |

Increadible place but much bigger than you would think. Great if the weather is good but the caravans strapped to the ground give a warning
