Unfortunately the Farnes trip was cancelled today due to windy conditions. The wind is apparently turning around tomorrow so we may be in with a chance of doing the Inner Farnes but Staple Island looks very doubtful.

And I was just about to ask whether you managed to see the Common Rosefinch and Red Backed Shrike that were there today, according to Rare Bird Alert. Hope you have a successful day tomorrow. |

Hi all, Hope the weather pans out for you tomorrow. I did get my photo of a puffin when I got to the cliffs this afternoon but it was very foggy. To get a decent picture I had to chuck stones until I hit a puffin and then prop it up with some sticks. You can't see the sticks in the photo's and hardly any Puffins were hurt. |

Well we made it! Just got back from an afternoon on Inner Farne and are all sitting scrolling through the images on the back of our cameras with silly grins on our faces. The forecast for tomorrow is better than today so with any luck we'll get to both islands.
One more night of listening to Steve and Andrew snore then I'll be off home to spend a week editing.

Well Stella and I have made it home after what seemed like a rather epic journey home (The Farnes really are quite far north for us!).
What a trip.... legendary......
Thank you soo so much for organising it Dave, it was amazing with the farnes today the absolute jem, but the whole things was good. Ab's head was beautiful, and today my first ever Puffins!!!
Your hard work and worry totally appreciated by both Stella and myself. Thank you also for cooking such a fab breakfast in the morning!!
Good luck tomorrow, hope the sun shines for you (but not enough to blow the highlights in your pictures )
