| | | Re: Devon meet Ok, how does a meet at stover country park or haldon forest on the 13 or 14th june sound?
Stover is fairly small (100 acres) but has a wide varitey of habitats so would cover alot of interests, haldon is a lot bigger at 3500 acres and is good for butterflies, BOP, and also has a healthy population of deer. |

| | | Re: Devon meet If you are going to meet at Stover you ought to give some thought to combining this with a visit to Bovey Heathfield a Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) Site. It is only 5 minutes away and open heath land so a good contrast to Stover as is Chudleigh Knighton Heath another good spot.
I find that Haldon is a great place to walk but there is not that much to photograph although it is one of the best places in the area to see deer.
Another good choice but more difficult to find is Bystock Ponds another DWT Site near Budleigh Salterton/Exmouth. It is tucked away but well worth a visit.

| | | Re: Devon meet Thanks Roger, Bovey Heathfield is a good idea, great for insects, and it also has the narrow-headed ant. |
