| | | Re: Herts, Beds and Bucks Group The weather forecast isn't too bad for tomorrow, so the meet at Ivinghoe Beacon is on!
I will PM the four people who've expressed an interest with the details. |

I realise that you might not want to run the group, so if anyone else wants to volunteer to run it instead, then let me know and I'll change the permissions over
Stu | Just to let everyone know I have now volunteered to "run the group" for the time being. I did speak to Mungo first. Hope everyone is OK with this

| | | Ivinghoe meeting 11th July A BIG thank you to Pete for organising the meeting and to Tiggrx and FungiJus for their company today It was fantastic to meet you all!
In addition to the scheduled walk around Ivinghoe Beacon, we also paid a visit to College Lake. I'm sure we'll get around to posting some pics soon so the rest of the group can get a flavour of the wildlife, particularly the wild flowers, of this absolutely beautiful part of the area. The number of species we saw was HUGE and there were some unexpected highlights
It was a wonderful day!
PS see the following link for details: Ivinghoe Beacon, Saturday 11th July

| | | Re: Herts, Beds and Bucks Group It was lovely to meet you too, HW!
It was an enjoyable day with good company, and I saw several flowers I'd never seen before. I've posted my report and photos on this thread (which I started in case anyone from outside the H, B and B group wanted to attend) :- Ivinghoe Beacon, Saturday 11th July
We had one attendee from Beds, one from Bucks and the other three from London!
Apart from the good company, the highlights for me were the Frog Orchid and the Green-flowered Helleborine.
And thanks very much HW for agreeing to run the group for the time being, I hope it doesn't take up too much of your time. |

I spent 2 days looking for frog orchids on nearby Bison Hill last week, but not found any.
I'd be very grateful if anyone could PM me details of the location of frog orchids and green helleborines at Invinghoe.

The green-flowered helleborine was at College Lake. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
