Glasshouse butterflies at RHS Wisley

I went to see the tropical butterflies at RHS Wisley, Surrey, the other day and can thoroughly recommend it. It was lovely to see some butterflies and feel some warmth in the depths of winter.

I am certainly going to go back to Wisley in the Spring and Summer too, the planting looks as if it will be amazing.

I went to Conway Butterfly world and another one near to New Quay in Wales enjoyed both but watch your cameras as its so hot in there it will steam them up.

Yes, good point, barquar. I had that problem too on Wednesday. Going from the very cold outside temperatures to the tropical glasshouse caused havoc with peoples' camera equipment and glasses.

I didnt know they had tropical butterflies at Wisley, tell me more. How does it compare to the old London Butterfly House?

Oh have just seen it was only until 1st March

Really miss the London Butterfly House - and it would have been so handy for me now that I live in Richmond!
