It would be impossible for any man to live up to the hype, but in the end at least the walking disater Bush has gone. The look on Bush's face when he saw how many people had come to cheer Obama into office.

Well he provided a very awe-inspiring speech to be honest. I think and hope that he does America proud! I don't think the sheer importance of today is actually recognised by many people worldwide.

Seems like a nice enough bloke who is intelligent by comparison and genuinely wants to do good, but the media can portray a man anyway they want or are told to (natural born pessimist me )

The only thing I wish they would stop harping on about is his colour. If racism really is wrong and should to be abolished (and it definitely should) why do they keep going on about his colour?

Besides, he's mixed race, his mother was white. In any case, I agree with you, his colour should neither be here nor there.

I hope he does well (and I am glad Bush has gone) and I hope that he doesn't disappoint all those people who are hoping he will make a real difference.
