As for the big bat the distribution of the Serotine seems to be to just south of Norwich (hard to tell on the small map) according to collins complete british animals, so I guess that campsite might just sneak in there | well the picture hasn't thanked me any for being squished a bit for the forum, but I'm pleased with the original - some of my norfolk hawker's aren't too bad either!
I'm so glad that you found the tame ones today it would have been so sad if you'd been left with only Saturday's images if they weren't what you had hoped for... (though an excuse to go back again next year!)
This is my fav dragonfly pic from the trip though I think |

| | | Re: Swallowtails & Norfolk Hawker meet 09 Some nice shots coming in already. I like your people ones Neil, even the ones of me! I didn't take as many people shots as I normally do but here's a few...
Chris (Wild-Man)
Ben (Tormentil)
Gill Catton (same hat but turned the other way out)
Neil (Ukwildlifeo) and DavyG
Julie (Wild-Woman)
Steve (Fourwings)
Jerry (jerryh) and Steve
And finally, here's a few shots of the reasons we went there: The Norfolk Hawker...
And here's one of him being viciously attacked by an azure damselfly (sadly not the hobby that Neil was hoping for!)...
Swallowtail...
I'll post some of the dozens of other insects we saw later in the week.

| | | Re: Swallowtails & Norfolk Hawker meet 09 As everyone who came to the WAB meet knows I had major problems with my car after breaking down at the edge of Kings Lynn on Friday night. Thankfully the cover I have with the AA allows me a hire car for three days so all was not lost and I duly picked up a Vauxhall Insignia from Peterborough and still managed to make the meet on the Saturday
This meant that I decided to only do the one day but what a day that was. As usual anything Steve organises is always worth attending as he always delivers and the views of the Norfolk Hawker and the Swallowtails were unbelievable, as was the frustrating Emperor Dragonfly that constantly zipped up and down the channel, defying us to photograph it.
It was great to meet up with old friends and a few new ones as well. Thanks to David (Hobjob) for offering to put me up in his camper van. That was a real bonus as I had had no sleep the night before but certainly caught up with a vengeance on the Saturday night with a 10+ hour sleep in.
Below are a few of my photos.
Ist the Norfolk Hawker.
Swallowtail.
Emperor Dragonfly
Sedge Warbler (yes there were birds at Strumpshaw)
I was having an all dayer in Norfolk on Monday but because of the need to be back in Coventry by Monday I decided to do that itinerary on Sunday and I departed Strumpshaw after all the WAB members arrived at the car park.
Hopefully Steve can pull of a Priory Meet again this year and if he can I will see some of you again this year.
Thanks for a great day out folks. It was a real joy.

| | | Re: Swallowtails & Norfolk Hawker meet 09 The standard of images that are appearing in this thread is just stunning, please keep them coming guys.
I have now downloaded two out of the four CF cards that I filled this weekend and to be honest I dont know where to start, I'm avoiding posting much as I intend letting the rest of you do the honours, I do however have many people based images to post which I will do tomorrow.
Here are a few of my favourite images from the cards I have downloaded so far.
Scarce Chaser - female
Norfolk Hawker - damaged male

It's moving!
Neil spotted that this molehill was moving, but the mole never appeared, sadly.
