| | | Re: Landguard Common Meet Oct 10th Very sorry to hear you're still not on top form. Think these things take a while to settle but I'm sure you'll start feeling better soon. Keep your chin up! We're all thinking of you.
Just look forward to a Minsmere meet in the future with us nature nuts!

| | | Re: Landguard Common Meet Oct 10th I have to be very doubtful for this meet at the moment. I was helping David (Hobjob) put some flat packs together yesterday when a rather large and heavy wooden panel dropped on my big toe.
It is quite badly hurt and has completely dislodged my big toe nail and has also split my toe open quite badly which has forced me to sit with my foot up in the air for the last 24 hours.
I was having just over a week here with David and was hoping to completely chill out but I wasn't expecting to chill out quite so much.
Still the upside was being able to watch Birmingham City live on TV winning their game and going top of the table and with Wolves losing 3-1 as I type this it means we should stay there for a few days at least.

John | Oh dear. I was going to say that I was still up for it if anybody else was, but I seem to be the only one left! Speedy recoveries wished to John and mrs fish Perhaps a winter meet could be arranged?

| | | Re: Landguard Common Meet Oct 10th I'm not knocking it on the head yet as it is still a few days away and my toe might be feeling much better by then.
I am here until next Saturday so am nearby anyway so fingers crossed I can get there but if it is anything like it is now then I will definitely not be able to walk.
I will ask David when he's back to see if he is still going even if I don't.

LBO report for yesterday Quote:
Friday, October 10, 2008, 1:47 PM
Much quieter today with far fewer finches logged overflying and precious little in the bushes. The only positive about today is we have caught double figures of Blackbirds so perhaps they are on the move ( The other positive about today is my turning down of the offer of a lift to visit Cornwall, sorry lads!).
Three Lapwing in off was notable and the resident Little Owl showed well to a visiting party of birdwatchers, but apart from that.... |
I hope that the Stinking Goosefoot comes up next year as that is what I wanted to see most of all
I have still been ill as my new dvt got infected ,I am now on stong anti biotics and should be able to make it to the kitchen to make a cuppa in the next few days Fingers crossed |

| You're so right. Seeing as I'd booked the slot in my diary anyway, I went down there yesterday, and it was dead - absolutely moribund. There were a couple of Firecrests around, reportedly, but the wind was keeping everything in cover, and they didn't show at all. Trimley Marsh was also the quietest I've ever seen it, surprising for October. I had a pleasant enough walk, but I could have saved myself the bus fare
Glad to hear you're improving Teresa, all the best.

The weather has been far too nice for birds dropping in but I bet it was nice to get out of town and I love Landguard anyway, I do miss fresh air | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
