| | | Amateur Entomologists' Society Annual Exhibition and Trade Fair 2008 The Amateur Entomologists' Society Annual Exhibition and Trade Fair will be held at Kempton Park Racecourse, Middlesex, on Saturday 18th October 2008.
The exhibition is open to members of the public and not just members of the AES. Should you wish to join the AES then you can do so on the day but you don't have to be a member to attend. Tickets are £3 per adult and £1 per child - these can be bought on the gate. Doors open 11am - 4:30pm.
The exhibition is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and features members' exhibits and trade stands (books, livestock, entomological equipment, entomological and conservation societies, crafts etc).
Further details are available on the AES Web site: Amateur Entomologists' Society Annual Exhibition and Trade Fair
The AES is one of the UK's leading organisations for people interested in insects. We are a charity and rely on membership subscriptions and donations to support the society. Details on membership can be found here: Membership information - Amateur Entomologists' Society (AES) |

| | | Re: Amateur Entomologists' Society Annual Exhibition and Trade Fair 2008 Hi naturegirl
Sorry to hear you have trouble finding the venue. There's a map to the racecourse here which may help: Annual Exhibition and Trade Fair - Amateur Entomologists' Society (AES)
Also, we don't allow the trade of vertebrates at the show anymore so there won't be any present I'm afraid. I think there was a change in the law some years back that made it more difficult for us to put on the show if traders could bring vertebrate stock. Since the Amateur Entomologists' Society is a society focussed on invertebrates we decided to give the same focus to the show.
Cheers

| | | Re: Amateur Entomologists' Society Annual Exhibition and Trade Fair 2008 I went there last year for the first time. I didn't stay very long but I thoroughly enjoyed it while I was there.
It is a shame we won't be coming from the same direction, Naturegirl, otherwise I would suggest meeting up somewhere and going together. I am sure there will be other WAB members coming from your direction. |

'Nutty' Naturegirl!! | Make your way to the M25.
Come off M25 at the junction with the M3 and head towards London.
Come off M3 at J1 (Sunbury) and turn right onto A308 towards Kingston.
Kempton Park is about 1/3 of a mile on the left hand side.
See you there.
Cheers,
Adam

| | | Re: Amateur Entomologists' Society Annual Exhibition and Trade Fair 2008 Just got back. Good grief I could have spent some silly money in there! Too many nice things to buy. It was mainly butterfly and moth pupae for sale and mounted specimens, plus all the paraphernalia that goes with it. Lots of nice toys such as moth traps and digi-micro cams......
Cheers,
Adam

I really wanted to go because I wanted to get some butterfly pupa but had to go to Chichester planatarium instead.
Maybe next year .... |
