I'm used to evening forays in much less light than that and I saw plenty in the early morning mist - and very spectacular it was too - I think I've said I liked the mist before. There's a world of difference between what you can see and what you can photograph though... it reminded me of that "mists of time too dark to film in " quote from Spike Milligan that I linked to in the http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...rty-frock.html thread. YouTube - Spike Milligan - Life On Earth
My attempts to record a couple of the ghostly ponies I came across in Brockenhurst and on the road to the meet came out as mostly cottonwool reflection from the mist but there were nonetheless most evocative encounters. Having to walk round unfamiliar large animals fast asleep in your path in mist made for a memorable journey. |

I took this one near the car park on Saturday morning before the rest of the gang arrived.
After a cold night in the car (me and the camera) the lens was very cold, it fogged badly as soon as I took it out of the bag. By the time it had cleared the butterfly had long gone , how it focused I don't know but it processed up quite well.
600mm macro lens on tripod. |

We did enjoy that weekend and have had many a laugh chatting about. It was so nice to put faces to so many names on here.

Sulphur Tuft?
Is this Sulphur Tuft? The lighting wasn't good under the trees.
No idea what this one is.
And finally, here's my Giant Puffballs
