Cracking shots though Keith. Like Rob, I just want to go back but it's a bit too far for me.

Dave P. | I'll second that. Great shots.
All being well I'm going back this Friday for the day. I'll be taking the SLR and long lens as well as the camcorder this time, so if there's any action and I get any decent shots I'll post them.

| | | Re: Deer Watching Wab Meet 2008 Well done Keith excellent results, the rut is allways a difficult thing to photograph, even more so in woods but if you pull it off the results are far better.

| | | Re: Deer Watching Wab Meet 2008 Its great to see all the posts and photos from last weekend and even more that the experience hasn't put people off going back
I cant stop smiling thinking of us all sitting with cameras poised in the bracken listening to the deer crashing antlers and bellowing but not being able to see a thing I seemed to spend all weekend saying 'usually .. theres lots deer' 'usually ....the sun burns up the mist quickly' etc etc
That poor pony had all the cameras clicking at him because we could see him
Thats the joy of nature - unpredictable

This the same Garden Spider as Daves photo above.
And this is the other one, same location, basking in backlite sunlight (yeah right )

Linda | I'll certainly be back to the area again, it's not to far for me.
I don't hear too well so I couldn't hear the deer but the silhouettes in the mist was very atmospheric. Sometimes you just have to hang up the camera and enjoy the moment. My pics of the pony were too noisey to use unfortunately.
I often don't get the pictures I go out for, but come back with good pictures of something quite different, like the spiders above.
That's my excuss for carrying so much gear

| | | Re: Deer Watching Wab Meet 2008 Hi all, Nice collection of photographs there everyone.
Keith, I especially like the photo of the single deer in between the 2 large trees, it makes a good natural frame.
I wish I'd of brought my macro along now... Very well done on the spiders guys!
Whiskybottle, what iso was you shooting the pony at?
