Lopham and Redgrave Fen (SWT)

Well I visited my favourite reserve today for the first time in a while and it was as beautiful as ever. Just wondered if any of the more local members (and of course people willing to travel) would like to schedule a summer meet here. I know there are a few Norfolk and Suffolk members! Of course it'd be open to all but I know that it's quite a trip for others. Would be nice to have a meet closer to home at some point

I went today and saw 5 Hobbies, reed warblers, sparrows

a Marsh Harrier, some unid' noisy things

On the board where people report sightings, there's a recent sighting of the Rare and confined to this area - Raft Spider. There have been Kingfishers and buntings all seen in the past week.

Would be interested to see if there are people who might attend?

Other engagements permittng, I'd love a meet at Regrave and Lopham.

BTW, the fen raft spider is found enlsewhere in UK as well, Pevensey
marshes and a couple of near-by sites in the Swansea area - there is a
good web-site Dolomedes home page run by Phil Pearson
who I heard describing his PhD work on the spider last year at R&L.

As for the Raft Spider- it's great to know that it exists elsewhere. I did not know that, but now I do, I'm happier! There's nothing scheduled as of yet, so I mean if people say when they're free or suggest dates to do it? It's never going to be a problem for me to do- I'm no more than 8 miles away from it. I presume weekends are best- so one weekend at some point in summer sounds good.
