Ok as promised afew details that you will all need before arriving on Saturday morning.
1 - Priory Water is a
WILD in every sense, it is a privately owned nature reserve, there are no fancy paths, hides, benches etc.... just pure unspoilt wild habitat, over 200 acres of it!!
2 - Sorry, now comes the official bit!
Being such a wild place there are areas that present hazards and difficult terrain for some people, to comply with the reserve managements rules we will ask everyone attending to sign a disclaimer. You will be attending this entirely
at your own risk, the management of the reserve
will not be held responsible for any injury, damage, or loss to yourselves or your possesions whilst you are on the reserve.
If you have any problem with this then please don't attend the meet.
Having said all that if you listen to all advice given to you by myself or any of the other people helping to show you around then you will be perfectly safe,we had a great time last year and we didn't loose anyone!
3 - The very small field centre has limited facilities that include gents and ladies toilets, fresh running water, an electric kettle and a few tables and chairs. The closest village is Asfordby, which is about half a mile away and has a small supermarket, newsagents, chemists and a good selection of takeaways.
4 - We have a fantastic selection of insects on the reserve and some do bite.
please bring some insect repellant with you and avoid wearing shorts etc....
5 - Bring clothing for all occasions, the forecast is good so far but wet weather gear is still not a bad idea, after all we do live in the UK

6 - As I said earlier in the thread, waterproof footwear is a good idea after all the rain we have had in recent days, there is very little in the way of mud, but some of the grass is quite long.
7 - Remember to charge those camera batteries and bring lots of memory cards, there will be plenty to photograph and I'm relying on you all to get the images because as I am acting as your guide I have decided not to carry my camera gear, my idea is that I will find stuff and you guys can photograph it
8 - Directions were posted earlier in the thread, look out for the white A4 sized Dragonfly signs at the end of station lane and at the reserve entrance.
9 - I am assuming that everyone who is stopping for the whole weekend has sorted themselves with somewhere to stay as we have no facility for camping etc.. on the reserve.
10 - The reserve gate will be open from 8am on Saturday morning onwards
11 - If anyone feels the real need, PM me and I will give you my mobile phone number.
All that remains to be said is that I wish you all a very safe journey to us and I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday morning.
