Re: Priory Water 2008

I've just found this thread, sorry for the late response.

My wife and I will be there if humanly possible, sounds like an interesting place.

B&B advice would be welcomed.

Dave

YESSSSS! My boss has given permission for the Sunday 8th off - so we're on - and particularly excited about the mothing - should I bring my trap - or will there be a lot (too many?) or is it the more - the better the final count? Here's hoping it isn't as hot as last year and that I manage the walk round the reserve this time and see the white legged for the first time ever .......... ooh twitch, twitch

Hi Steve,

Could you advise which Travel Lodge this is please and/or which area Priory Water is in?

I can't seem to find too much about it on Google.

Thanks,

Dave

I'm not sure of the exact location - but it is in the melton area. There wont be a lot about it on google as it is a private membership site and is not generally open to the wider public.

Thanks eeyore,

I've found the Travel Lodge close to Melton Mowbray.

I'll book that unless anyone can advise on better accommodation.

Cheers,

Dave

Re: Priory Water 2008

I have just booked into a farm house called Shoby Lodge Farm you can find it under the Farm Stay Uk site.

Never been there before but it looks really nice and the lady I spoke to said it was only approx. 1-2 miles from Priory Water.

Re: Priory Water 2008

Well its getting closer to this one now, and its about time I started to clarify numbers attending because as I stated at the begining of this thread we can only have an absolute max of 40 people per day. The list of attendees so far is;
glsammy +1
SteveHL
Tormentil
John
Wild-woman & wild-man
Hobjob
Gill catton
PMG +1
Whiskeybottle
Rockhopper + 1
Jonesyboy
DavyG + 1
eeyore & almostnormal
Tufftie
Jez

plus the "pork-pie posse" - fourwings, MTR, Oscar2006, Tgoodlife & hopefully Boddie

Anyone else interserted whilst we have space?

Re: Priory Water 2008

Im definitely interested Steve but would it be okay If I drove up on Saturday afternoon and arrived about 3 or 4ish? Then I could join in the mothing and have a full day on Sunday.

I'll probably bring a sleeping bag and kip in the car.
