| | | WAB dragonfly meeting Ok, so this is a bit like playing Russian roulette with our current fantastic summer weather but I'm finally going to fix a date for a proposed WAB Dragonfly meeting. The Date - Saturday 11th August. Venue - my local reserve called Priory Water, here in deepest East Leicestershire.
The reserve is a strictly private nature reserve with no public access and is therefore totally unspoilt.
It comprises of over 200 acres of fantastic mixed habitats, lakes, ponds, slow-flowing river, wildflower meadows, scrub, young woodland etc....
It is by far one of the best sites for Odonata in the Midlands and has a current species list of 23, the vast majority of my images are taken there, infact its my second home
Small Red-Eyed Damselfly E.viridulum was found on the reserve for the first time last year and is just begining to emerge now.
As well as Odonata the reserve also boasts excellent lists for Birds, Butterflies, Moths , other insects & wildflowers.
We do have a small field centre with proper toilet facilitys.
The reserve is within very easy reach of both the M1 & A1 giving good links from all directions.
If you are interested in joining us then please register your interest on this thread.

| | | Re: WAB dragonfly meeting Just to confirm what Steve said, this is a top site. I was kindly introduced to it by Steve last year and I've been down there many times since, although not as often as I would have liked to.
I'll be a definite, subject to the usual caveats re family, floods, war etc! |

Hopefully we can meet up with Steve another time at Priory. I'd love to go again, which is why I'm disappointed I can't make the 11th. And I would of course like to meet Jules, John and the others...

Jules & Chris | Nice one Jules, look forward to meeting you both again. I'm pretty sure that there is a travel lodge about 4 or 5 miles from the reserve. |

I would love to be there if you don't mind Steve. Will be nice to see some of the others who are coming.
There is a travel lodge on the A46 at Thrussington, which is as Steve says, about 4 miles from the reserve. Ideal for you Wild Woman.
