Re: WAB dragonfly meeting

We'll have to get back on Saturday eve so can't stay for the mothing. Shame, that breakfast sounds strangely attractive

nothing special, just Bacon, Sausage, egg, beans, cobs (rolls or baps in old English) Tea / Coffee

Any special needs? (tough if it ain't on the menu it ain't getting cooked!)

Obviously we will need to make a small charge to cover the cost of the food, and I need to know numbers so I get out tomorrow and buy the stuff.

please advise ASAP

You'll find out soon enough

I'll be stopping over if it's drier than it's been in Gloucestershire for the last few weeks

That'll do me unless anyone wants to volunteer to do a campsite curry.

You will have a job to miss them Roger, there were literally 100's of them out on the floating vegetation yesterday, and to think we only found the first ones on the reserve on July 22nd last year!!
For a Damselfly that was only first found in the UK in 1999 its spread up from the South coast has been astounding.

I took this at Priory Water yesterday afternoon with a compact camera from a distance of about 18 inches!, at the moment they are perching very close to shore allowing you to get very close and get some brilliant images, just a pity this one had a leg missing!!

Steve.

I'm sure it will be fine. No roll call necessary, just turn up with a camera is about as complicated as it gets!

I could cope with an egg and bacon or 'banjo' roll in the morning?

I found a fantastic ice cream shop near to the site I have been working on this week... and that has already blown my diet wayyyy out of the water so a cheeky F+C supper and banjo breakfast can't do taht much more damage!!

I made the BIG mistake of buying a bag of jam doughnuts today. We'll blow the diets this weekend. I need cheering up right now.

Talking of doughnuts, ever read The Ripple Effect by Dominic Holland.
It's the story of a guy on the night shift in the local bakery who doesn't put jam in the jam donuts, and the series of events leading from this misdemeanour. Very funny it is.
