The overall standard of the images taken on Saturday is excellent, it was great fun watching you all taking them, I actually enjoyed myself so much that I didn't miss having my DSLR gear with me! |

In fact better than that, they're spot on. |

| | | Re: WAB dragonfly meeting They are not as bad as most of my shots but I look at Gill's & Tormentil images (to mention just two) and mine pale by comparison.

John | Yeh, but your not comparing like with like John. You can't expect your lens to compare with a FZ50, on a close up subject, or a Sigma 150mm.
Likewise mine, I was torn between my 150mm and the Bigma. Some you win, like the small redeye, some you loose like the close up insects. Can't win them all. Your darter shots are as good as any other. As for the damsels, your really pushing a 400mm or a 500mm to get anyway near the quality of a 150mm, nothing to do with the user. |

| | | Re: WAB dragonfly meeting Found this thread now I'm back online! Thanks again Steve for a top-notch day even tho I was wiped out with the weather. Priory Waters is an impressive site and a delight to visit. Again cos I was offline I had missed the organising and run-up to the weekend - had we known there was mothing we would have come in the old camper and brought the trap and made a real deal of it - but there's always next time!!
Talking of next time - any chance of making a weekend of it on the 12/13th July 2008 all things being equal we will be rotared off from work and could come and have some fun. If you choose the end of June we will be in the Western Isles (hopefully? - well thats the plan!).
It was great to put faces to names and actually chat to folks - face to face the old fashioned way!! Thanks again Steve - roll on next time
Pauline
PS all the photos are smashing by the way . . .
