I follow BFI films - their output's really interesting. This one shows wildlife filming techniques more or less in their infancy. The dormouse shots are nice, too. |

The dormouse shots are nice, too. | A lovely short film, the 'time-lapse' must be some of the earliest. It was interesting to see the great ivy-covered Elms in the landscape.

It was nominated for an Oscar and won 6 Internanional Awards.
I though of you because there is a short section showing a couple of Bank Voles playing, (which I caught for the film-makers on a rubbish dump!).
It is the most delightful film and I would recommend it to all. Somewhat dated now, but still not to be missed. It is still occasionally shown on TV.

Having been involved in the making of the film in a very small way as a young lad, I have for some time had my own copy.
