| | | Goat's Leg! I made the somewhat unpleasant discovery this morning of what very much appears to be a goats leg, hidden by tall grass at the edge of a nature reserve in Derby. I am very curious as to how this could have got there and what animal around here could have been capable of this! Any ideas? |

| | | Re: Goat's Leg! Did you take a photo? Was it the whole leg or the lower part. I suspect that it is more likely from a roe deer. It could be a result of poaching, so it might be worth contacting the reserve or local land owner to inform them. I have found dis guarded roe deer remains whilst out in the past, these have been due to poaching. |

Its a mystery to me, could be humans, foxes, buzzards, badgers. |

| | | Re: Goat's Leg! I think thats a sheep/large lambs foreleg ..... sheep rustling does go on and remains can be tossed away in places away from the crime ..... |

| | | Re: Goat's Leg! Most likely a lamb's/sheep's foreleg as has been said. They are often left in the fields if they die and bits of the body get scattered by foxes, badgers and buzzards. |

| | | Re: Goat's Leg! Yeah, It`s a bit of a lambs leg. No doubt dropped by foxes or sometimes a carrion crow will carry something that size quite a long way. Where from is anyones guess.
How do you tell the difference? Don`t know, they just look different from one another. When you`ve been at it a few years you just know what things are.
