| | | Badger cull to start next year Looks liek tis for real this time: BBC News - Badger cull to stop bovine TB to be trialled in England
What I can't believe is Mrs Spellman actually said " "We can't escape the fact that the evidence supports the case for the controlled reduction of the badger population in the areas affected by bovine TB" despite the fact every scientist and scientific paper said the complete opposite
Another decision from the 'greenest government ever' to go with the watering down of planning laws that protect wildlife and marine nature reserves being put to one side. |

While Labour where in gov (I’m not supporter btw) they held four trials of badger cull of this kinds, all four came back with similar results. The cases of bovine TB only dropped by a small amount, and many of the wildlife biologist confirmed that it’s was very unlikely that the badgers where the main cause for the spread of the disease. So this indicates that it’s spread by other animals just as easily.
DEFRA and even the farmers association think another “trial” is a bad idea and the best way forward would be to put serious effort into research for a vaccination.
What’s the bet that this “trial” comes back with results showing Badgers are the only reason and they are all evil and must be eradicated? The Tories need to look like they are doing something for the people and the greater good as they are pretty low in the polls haha. |
