| | | Meeces As I was sitting at my computer last night I heard something next to me, then saw an opened packet of crisps next to me moving, I quickly picked it up and there was a little house mouse in there, I let it loose on my balcony and it ran down the drainpipe.
I had heard a mouse recently, but thought there was only one.
I then set a humane trap with some peanut butter in it and have caught another 3 today, didnt realise I had so many!
They seem to love peanut butter.

| | | Re: Meeces Are you sure they are actually different mice you are catching? If they have a good access route into your house, and you are only putting them outside, they will quickly come straight back in again. Do you have any tippex? If you catch another, before you release it, dab a little spec of tippex on it, and see if you catch it again!
They look to move indoors at this time of year for warmth and free food. |

| | | Re: Meeces Yes that thought had occurred to me, I was thinking of ringing them
I wouldnt be able to grab them to mark them, these little things are like rockets!
I live on the top floor of a block of flats and they are coming in from underneath the bath, so I suspect the whole block must be full of them, I have caught 10 now in 2 days.
As soon as I open the trap, they are away, either up the brick wall, or down the drainpipe, would be interesting to find out if they are the same ones though. |

| | | Re: Meeces If you place the trap into a deep plastic bag with the mouse, release it and gently encourage it to a corner of the bag, nose first. Gently but firmly, scruff the mouse in the bag between thumb and forefinger and lift it out carefufully resting its back legs on your other hand so it feels secure. This way you could get a good look at it and perhaps get a little harmless food colouring on its tail so it could be identified again. Then release and see if you get a return visit.

| | | Re: Meeces I decided to try scruffing todays catch, but it was getting stressed when I put my hand in the bag, so I just took a pic and let it go.
Meece of the day!
