| | | Badger court case. Back in April a few of you may remember this thread Witnessed a mindless act It is now closed now so I have had to start a new one to let those interested know the out come. Can I just say first of all that despite getting a lot of positives from this thread there were a lot of negatives and pessimistic posts. This made me worried at the time and made me think Id done the wrong thing, Others reading this could have been put of reporting the same kind of incident. Well the court date was today and he was found guilty of willfully injuring it and fined £400. Great result on the verdict although it is a small fine IMO, but this will hopefully send out a message to others who commit wildlife crimes.

| | | Re: Badger court case. Nice one for bringing this the courts, but its time the punishment fitted the crime and a jail term would have been a better deterrent but hey lets let rapist and child abuses off so this is trivial..
Sorry for being so negative but it really riles me when the police go to all the trouble to bring a case to court only for the defendant to get a slap on the wrist and a little fine.. |

| | | Re: Badger court case. Well done Fudgey, that's a good result, thanks for the update. The fine might not be much, but at least it's a guilty verdict.
Regards, Audrey. |

At least this person has been shown that his actions are unacceptable and if he repeats the offence the consequences will be more serious. It may also act as a warning to others.

Hope all is good for you.
